Even though I have been out of the office furniture and interior design business for almost twenty years I still notice the way building are finished. It is the little variations through out a property that make such an overall difference. If you pay attention you can really see the differences in a Class A or B or C building. It is the small variations in our daily programs that will make a huge difference in the quality of our lives. To create and maintain a “Class A” sense of balance, peace of mind and an overwhelming feeling of gratitude we can’t cut corners and I know from time to time I am as guilty of this as anyone. My old behaviors kept me feeling like I was riding an emotional rollercoaster. I would practice, practice, practice positive actions and then start feeling better only to then start cutting back, cutting back, cutting back until I was right back where I started. The key to life long change is to create and maintain a daily program that keeps you heading in the right direction everyday.
I will not cut corners with the quality of my daily program, the little things make all the difference. Giving myself a few extra minutes whenever I need them provides me the ability to step back and keep my perspective and check my motives. To keep my poise or hold my temper, when I would normally lose them, keeps me moving forward. Being willing to listen and act selflessly gives me good reasons to feel good about myself. The simple acts of love, forgiveness and gratitude can change my focus, my mind and my life. I will never cut corners when building a quality life.
